NOM NOM RECIPE: GARLIC SAUTEED SPINACH RECIPE

I love Spinach! A few months ago I attended a dinner party and had the best spinach. I asked for the recipe and now it is one of my favorite side dishes to make.

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds baby spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons good olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

First rinse the spinach well in cold water to make sure it's very clean.

Saute the garlic in oil over medium heat for about 1 minute. Add all the spinach, the salt, and pepper to the pot, toss it with the garlic and oil, cover the pot, and cook it for 2 minutes.

Uncover the pot and turn the heat on high, and cook the spinach for another minute, stirring with a wooden spoon, until all the spinach is wilted

NO.7 SUB : NOM NOM NOM

Today I finally tried the Curried Chicken Salad sub from No.7 Sub (1188 Broadway). When I first arrived the line was out the door but it did go by fast which was great since it was pouring outside. This sandwich was very flavorful and delicious! The basil leaves in the sandwich added the perfect amount of sweetness. The bread was perfectly fresh and crisp which made the sandwich even more enjoyable. I washed my sub down with some Pineapple chili soda. My friend and I both agreed that this drink would be amazing on a hot summer day. It tasted the way pop rocks would taste if they would in liquid form. lol  I couldn't finish my sub so I took the other half home for dinner. If your in the mood for a great sub and your near NO.7 Sub I highly recommend it. Just know this is really a order and go spot since there is ZERO seating inside. There is another location on Greene Ave in Brooklyn.

VODKA GUMMY BEARS

This past weekend was one of my best friends birthday parties. The party was outside at the Beer Gardens in Astoria so I wanted to make some kind of "fun treat" for the festivities and by "fun treat" I mean an alcoholic treat! lol So I did some googling and found something about vodka gummy bears. I found a youtube link and decided to give it a try. First you get a bag of gummy bears and a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka. What you do is pour the gummy bears into a glass bowl or cup. It has to be glass or it won't work. Pour the vodka into the glass and make sure all the gummy bears are covered with vodka.

You then cover the glass or bowl with foil or saran wrap. Make sure it's covered really tightly. Place the glass in the fridge for two to three days. Each day you stir the gummy bears. By the third day all of the vodka should be soaked into the gummy bears. At your party you can serve the gummy bears in tiny cups like you would a jello shot. Remember to start soaking your gummy bears at least 3 days before your party. ENJOY!
